Teenage years involves a lot of changes – physically, emotionally and socially – and some teens may have a hard time adjusting. During this stage, they will have to face certain experiences and situations that will call for them to make decisions, oftentimes major ones that will ultimately affect their lives. What kind of friends should they hang out with, what self image they should project, whether they should engage in teenage sex and drugs are just a few of these situations. As a parent, you would always want to help them make the right decisions and steer them onto the right path – but teens will also battle for autonomy. The key is not in interfering in choices but in helping them make the right choices and this can be done by letting them join spiritual or religious centered activities. In this way, teens can bond with people their age in a wholesome and Christ – centered way, leaving you without worries about what your child is up to. Youth Christian activities are also a great way to enhance your teen’s creativity, helping him or her have fun while unleashing his or her hidden potential.

One way for them to have fun is by youth ministry skits. Teenagers love to role-play. This gives them a glimpse of who they might be, had they chosen this path before. An example of this is Bully Bob, a bully on a playground picking on young Christian children. However, Little David isn?t going to tolerate his nastiness. He?s thinking of teaching this bully a lesson, and there?s a trick up his sleeve. This is a twist on David and Goliath (Matthew 5:38-48) and this is also commonplace event in the lives of everyday kids, so teens will surely relate to this.

Teens can also move physically through dancing. The Gospel story Jesus can Dance is told through singing and dancing, which is fun for teenagers who love music or moving.

Built on Love is another skit that will test teens? ingenuity. There are two home builders that are required to work hard in this skit, and they better be wise in choosing their building materials in order to win.

Pajama Jones is a fun activity that involves storytelling. This is told in the dark, and involves a good storyteller, some materials to make loud thunder noises and flashlights. Pajama Jones has plenty of lessons about God’s love as well.

Aside from skits, dramas and stories, teenagers can also have silly fun. They may have games, relays, treasures hunts and the like. Think of children’s games with teenagers playing. Your teenager will certainly not feel shy in joining these games since they are all surrounded by peers and people their age. Fun team games will teach them the value of camaraderie and friendly team competition.

Bringing your child to a Christian Youth Ministry will allow him to experience fun, camaraderie and explore his creativity with numerous Christian youth Group activities that he will surely enjoy.

All About Social Concerns Of Homeschooling

Social skills is an area of deep concern when it comes to homeschool. Many critics point out that since man needs to hone his social skills, a homeschool environment where social interaction is limited is detrimental to his growth and development. But learning have proved this wrong.

Kids put into the fiercely competitive school environments lack the confidence to hold a conversation. Such children show little genuine interest in the topic of conversation and don’t know how to interact with men and women of various age groups, especially their elders.

Kids who learn at home are more aware of the implications and the purpose of their studying. They will ask intelligent questions and make accurate observations. Students begin their life by imitating their mothers and fathers. Homeschooled young children therefore pickup the sterling qualities they see in their dads and moms. On the other hand, they are protected from the detrimental influences of their peers.

These students are thus better equipped with the tools necessary to face the world. The positive reinforcement that takes place in the home school environment as opposed to being abandoned, embarrassed or ignored in a normal school environment strengthens their self-esteem. Young people turn out to be better balanced andwell-rounded as they progress into adulthood.
