More Reasons Why Bryce Canyon Tours From Las Vegas Are So Interesting

Located on the eastern edge of Utah’s Paunsaugunt Plateau, with it’s dramatic natural amphitheaters and astonishing rock formations which have taken their shape by the forces of wind, water and ice over millions of years. Bryce Canyon Tours from Las Vegas are an interesting possibility for travelers who would like to do more than just catch a show and gamble in the casinos.
Covering only 36,000 acres, Bryce Canyon is Utah’s smallest national park. The more well-known Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks often overshadow it, potentially making Bryce Canyon an oversight by some but a highly appreciated national treasure by all who do visit. It may be small in comparison to those larger parks, but you’ll find size doesn’t matter as the brilliant landscapes are grandiose. The scenic views that it offers and it’s fantastic trails, make it a trouble-free park to see.
One of the main attractions is the huge Bryce Amphitheater. From this spot, many visitors choose to view the notable freestanding rock formations called ‘hoodoos’ named by the Paiute Indians that once inhabited the area. The Paiute Indians once thought of the rock formations to be that of the Legend people of the historical past, who were turned to stone due to the bad deeds that they had committed. Whether you believe the legend or not, walking on one of the Amphitheater’s four main trails allows you the chance to see the sculpted rocks from close up.
Running along the cliff above the famous Bryce Amphitheater, is the five and a half mile long Rim Trail, adjoining the five major viewing points that overlook the canyon. You should know that the trail between Sunset Point and Sunrise Point is wheelchair friendly because it’s nice and flat.
The Queen’s Garden Trail is a loop trail beginning and then ending at Fairyland Point from where it passes below the Bryce Rim in one direction for about one and a half mile in distance. It is the easiest of the trails. From this trail you’ll be able to see the Queens Castle and Queen Victoria rock formations on its path.
The Navajo Loop Trail is a fabulous loop trail that starts and stops at Sunset Point, running below the Bryce Rim for a little less than 1 1/2 miles. Along the way, it passes between a narrow gap between sheer cliff fronts known as “Wall Street”. The Silent City, Temple of Osiris and Thor’s’ Hammer rock formations are visible from this trail. This is an entertaining trail to be on as you walk along searching for all of these stunning sights.
The Fairyland Loop Trail is considered the most arduous, due to its eight-mile length and periodic vertical spots. Considering the distance traveled, you’ll get pleasure in seeing many great points as you walk through Fairyland Point, down through Fairyland Canyon, climbing back up again to the China Wall until you cross over the Rim Trail and then head back to Fairyland Point. On the segment running along Fairyland Canyon, at about the half way mark in the trek, is Tower Bridge Junction. A short trail leads from that spot to the Tower Bridge rock formation, which is amazing for its resemblance to an actual castle.
If you are looking for a rather desolate trail, then you’ll appreciate Fairyland Point because it is less populated as the other scenic points, probably because its off the beaten track. But all the more reason to find and visit this amazing spot because it promises you with some of the best views in the park. The Boat Mesa, which is the highest hoodoo in the park, as well as the impressively lifelike Sinking Ship formation are both visible from it.
The park has plenty of other attractions too. The Bryce Amphitheater is the most popular site in the park. However, you might find after you get back from your vacation that there are other Bryce Canyon Tours from Las Vegas that you would like to go on during your next visit.
