Fun
Summertime is one of the best family times. So much to do outdoors. Pools, zoos, vacations, trips to the grandparents, camping. All activities that allow us to spend time with our children.
And, of course, with each activity comes a list of safety rules to follow. Especially if your kids are young, or if this is your first time participating in this particular adventure, allow some extra time to go over the rules and memorize them before your trip. And when your at home make sure everyone understands about swimming pool safety.
For the older children you can make a reward system for memorizing the safety musts. Or play “charades” on family game night using the rules as the subjects to act out.
For the younger children, do dry run throughs of safety situations but make it fun. Make sure they really understand the concepts and the steps to take if they were in trouble.
For the youngest child, there are some great child safety products that can help you keep track of them and some that give them the ability to protect themselves.
So enjoy your summer activities safely with the whole family.
